Anti-Aging Medicine

A Preventive Anti-Aging Medicine

Anti-aging hormone therapy

The products used in the context of anti-aging therapy have, in part, characteristics of antioxidant, detoxifying, anticarcinogenic and protective for many tissues and organs.

The hormones regulate almost everything in our body and a body without strict hormone control would have to make a bit of everything (fat, protein, bone, heat, energy, etc ...) until exhaustion. Therefore it is unnecessary to insist on the important role they play in our bodies and our metabolism.

It should be noted that hormones are often interactive, and that without one of them, others no longer work with the same coordination. In short, the almost complete absence of a hormone is most detrimental to the smooth functioning of an healthy body.

Here are the hormones used in an anti-aging program:

- Growth Hormone (HGH): It acts primarily on the development of muscle mass, helps reduce body fat and skin tightening and increased stamina and energy. It protects also from anxiety.

- DHEA: This substance is produced by our adrenal glands. It is the basic element of the production of other hormones such as oestrogen and testosterone. It has a positive effect on vitality, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, senile dementia, obesity, cardiovascular disease, memory and aging skin.

- Oestrogen: The majority of oestrogen is produced by the ovaries. This hormone has an impact on the troubles of menopause, aging skin and osteoporosis. It has a beneficial effect on mental stability and intellectual performance.

- Progesterone: Produced mainly by the ovaries, for women, and in small amounts by the testicles for men, it has a beneficial effect on cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and disorders of menopause. It is the hormone of psychic equilibrium and serenity in women.

- Melatonin: It helps regulate the rhythm of sleep and waking, it protects the immune system against free radicals, it lowers blood pressure and relaxes muscles.

- Pregnenolone: It is produced by the outer part of adrenal glands and brain. It stimulates the memory, enhances concentration, fight depression and calm the inflammatory arthritis. Of course, this is an overview of hormones that regulate our body because all the list would be too tedious. There are others that are also important.

- Testosterone: Also called hormone of masculinity. In humans it is produced mainly by the testes and secondarily by the adrenal glands and other tissues such as prostate (from adrenal hormone precursors). In women, it is the adrenal glands and ovaries that form androgens precursor hormones from the adrenal glands. It makes the person stronger against stress, more aggressive and gives a sound mind. It has an action on the good mood, heightens sexual desire, body muscle, reduce fat (including cellulite) and makes the skin more toned.

- Thyroid hormones exert many effects in modulating metabolism and cell development. These are the hormones of the energy and activity. Excess hormone induces hyperactivity and over consumption. A hormone deficiency or hypothyroidism causes a general slowdown of the human machinery. Insufficient production and secretion of thyroid hormones, whatever the cause, determines disorders varying with the intensity of the deficit. It is more common in women, especially when approaching the menopause and its repercussions are often underrated. The signs are often physical and mental fatigue, weight gain, drowsiness, nervousness, dry skin, etc.. The hormone deficiency in thyroid hormones is usually permanent and warrants a corrective treatment throughout life.

Taking hormones can be dangerous to health, if it is not medically justified and controlled. On the other hand, there are pro-indications for taking hormones. It is essential to conduct a prior biological review (blood or urine) to highlight the hormonal deficiency and its importance. A careful examination will identify the symptoms experienced by the patient. The doses to be administered will be adjusted depending on improvement or worsening of symptoms, and biological monitoring done regularly.
