Anti-age eye rejuvenation

The aging of the eye, at the area around the orbit, produce wrinkles and fine lines and often a sad look. These effects are due to skin fragility and laxity of the periorbital muscles.

- The space between the eyelids, usually oval, tends to become round.

- The upper eyelid may become thin and fall under the rim of the orbit, giving an appearance of sunken eyes, or sometimes on the contrary, it becomes thick with a drop resulting in ptosis of the eyelid. To keep an eye open enough, a compensatory contraction may be the cause of horizontal wrinkles above the eyebrows.

- The lower eyelid can have dark circles and fine lines present, and sometimes a sagging skin and swelling.

- The muscular hyperactivity eventually cause wrinkles in the skin, called "wrinkles of the crow's feet" at the outer corners of eyes. The wrinkles of the crow's feet are partly caused by the force of muscular contraction of orbicular muscles associated with fragile skin. Botox or Botulinum toxin is reported to relax the muscle. Treatment by injection of botulinum toxin is often associated with having a skin revitalizing peels and mesolift.

- The eyebrow is subject to a permanent step-down effect due to the action of the external muscle that surrounds the eye and tends to fall, accompanied by a drop in the outer end (drop of the eyebrow tail), giving rise to a sad look. The goal of treatment is to maintain the level of the eyebrow or pull up the tail of the eyebrow to maintain alertness and clarity of light. Botox or botulinum toxin, well used and injected in the right place, will rebalance the tone in the muscles and allow elevation of the tail of the eyebrow. The notched wire support (filting), implanted under the skin, can also raise eyebrows. This technique involves setting up, under local anaesthesia, the serrated wire or "suspenders wire" to enhance the loose tissues, result of the aging effect.

- The upper eyelids may be an indication for surgery, but only when there is a significant relaxation of tissues and a major embarrassment. Before coming to surgery, different techniques of aesthetic medicine can bring relief. Often, a combination of techniques is required: technical revitalizing skin (peeling, mesolift); abrasive technique (medium or deep peel); Botox or botulinum toxin diluted.
